9 SALSA DAYS IN HABANA, CUBA

With this vibrant 9-day dance holiday in Havana, Danzamundo offers you the unique opportunity to completely immerse yourself into Cuban salsa. Feel, live and become the dance, and at the same time soak up the spontaneous and colourful Cuban atmosphere. Havana is not just one of the most interesting and best-preserved colonial cities of Latin America but it's a must for salsa lovers as well. Our dance team will unleash the 'salsero' inside of you and take you to the best salsa venues at night. In order to get you closer to Cuban people, you will be staying in carefully selected private homes in central Havana.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Saturday:

  • Arrival in Havana and accommodation check-in.

Day 2 - Sunday:

  • Our tour host will meet you for an introduction.
  • Orientation tour on foot through Havana Vieja (Old Havana).
  • After lunch, we meet our teacher and Danzamundo dance team. After the group is divided in two different levels, we start with our first two-hour salsa lesson.

Day 3 - Monday:

  • In the morning, we continue with our dance course, introducing some more steps and rhythm elements.
  • Afternoon free to explore Cuba's wonderful capital.
  • Afterwards, we head for a great salsa venue to witness some locals in action and to try out what we have learned so far.

Day 4 - Tuesday:

  • Gradually we are getting into the rhythm. We continue with our classes in the morning.
  • Our team will suggest some great places for you to salsa in the afternoon and evening.

Day 5 - Wednesday:

Today we take a break from Havana and drive west to the Pinar del Rio province for a visit to the famous Tobacco area around Viñales.

Day 6 & 7 - Thursday & Friday:

  • More salsa and salsa classes in the morning.
  • If you feel like going for a swim after lunch - the beautiful beaches of Playas del Este are only half-an-hour drive away.

Day 8 - Saturday:

After our morning salsa lesson we will organize a farewell party and dance into the day with our Cuban friends and teachers.

Day 9 - Sunday:

  • Enjoy the lively atmosphere at the 1830 Club right by the waterside where every Sunday, Rueda Casino is practiced by many Cubans and dancers from abroad.
  • The holiday ends today. Return home or continue your trip with our extension package in Trinidad.

Possible extension in Trinidad (5 nights):

This small town is the colonial gemstone of Cuba and has an irresistible charm. Moreover it has a thriving live music scene and offers a nice selection of venues for dancing salsa, son and rumba. Choose between our two hotel options right in town or by the white, sandy beaches of Playa Ancon, the ideal setting for a relaxed chill-out at the end of your holiday.
